Marketing Assistant - Part Time (Virtual)

About Us:

Consumers love our products -- it's now time to show others why that is. Modi Toys has grown organically through word-of-mouth since launching in August 2018, but millions of people are still unaware of this emerging space for first-generation South Asian parents seeking to find innovative and simple ways to immerse their children into their culture. We want to change that. 

About You:

If you are a self-starter looking to dive right in to a growing brand, and love to take ownership of projects from start to finish, then this role may be for you. If you love to tell stories -- in all types of mediums from blogging, Reels to email -- and can find unique ways to connect with people, then this role may be for you. If you're looking to sharpen your skills and also develop new ones, then let's cut to the chase and see if you're right for this role.   

Job responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Head of Marketing to strategize and execute campaigns across all stages of the marketing funnel

  • Analyze website analytics to uncover trends and opportunities 

  • Build and segment email lists. Craft a series of emails that result in an above-average open and CTR. 

  • Submit applications for a wide range of Certifications, competitions, grants, etc.

  • Oversee content marketing by brainstorming and executing content for blogs, emails, Instagram Reels

  • Craft and/or edit blogs for website, Op-Eds, essays, etc.

  • Assess the feasibility of new marketing channels such as, TV ads, Affiliate marketing, SMS, Partner marketing and establish a presence by from start to finish

  • Help oversee the website migration from Wix to Shopify

  • Develop a strategy for Influencer marketing with a potential Ambassador Program

Position requirements:

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in consumer or e-commerce marketing, with a focus on driving engagement, retention and ROI

  • BA/BS or similar college level education

  • Creative thinker; a "no" simply means try something a different way

  • Resourceful and a self-learner; as a startup, we're always forced to do more with less

  • Have a "growth mindset" -- no task is too big or too small because each comes with a learning opportunity

  • Experience owning a marketing strategy from concept to execution 

  • Skilled at parsing and analyzing data to uncover trends, patterns

  • Extraordinary writing and video editing ability, with demonstrated creativity and attention to detail

  • Willingness to work both autonomously and collaboratively


Operations Assistant - Full Time (Edison, NJ)

We are an e-commerce and a wholesale gift business that operates from NJ and ships to US and 40 other countries internationally. This is a great hands-on experience for those seeking an internship or entry level jobs since training will be provided.  This is an ideal position for candidates that are looking to grow in a position and a company that is growing with potential for global expansion.

Job responsibilities:

  • Tracking daily orders online from our site, Amazon, eBay and Instagram 

  • Creating shipping labels for new orders using appropriate platform

  • Preparing shipping boxes according to the order

  • Preparing manifests for shipments

  • Conducting inventory check as required

  • Coordinating printing and packaging jobs as needed for shipments

  • Assisting with marketing/advertising campaigns (both on social media as well as direct marketing at booths) as required

  • Handling customer service duties by following up on orders, issues and special requests

  • Resolving package delivery issues by coordinating with customers and delivery services (USPS, UPS, Canada Post, etc.)

  • Assisting with logistics and customs for new shipments of stock

  • Helping in office/staff management duties as required

  • If the candidate has technical skills, he/she can also assist with additional site and app development projects


Position Requirements:

  • Comfortable using computers, internet and mobile applications​

  • Has working knowledge of most commonly used programs like Word, Excel, PPT, PDF, etc.​

  • Willing to learn new skills and is a team player
